Manuela Rastaldi is Italian;

graduated in Zurich, she has been working with several Italian contemporary companies; as she was looking for a more personal language she moved to Brussels in 1995 where she attended several workshops at P.A.R.T.S (directed by A.T. De Keersmaeker; given by F.Schirren, E.Carpenter, D.Duzinsky, Lance Gries, E.Corbett, A.T. De Keersmaeker & Thierry De Mey). She participated in young choreographers' projects (Samirra Bafdel, Tom Pliscke); then she joined the company of M.Anne De Mey for the creation of Katamenia (on Franz Schubert's string quartett The Death and The Maiden) and for the short movie 21 Études ŕ danser, directed by Thierry De Mey. 1998 she started her personal research creating Ennesima (a first solo) and a series of preparatory works called layers (with Magda Reiter, Anouk Llaurence, Alice Chauchat).
